The clip, shared by ABC News on Twitter shows a small group shouting up as an onlooker films the scene, which wouldn't look out of place in a hollywood blockbuster.
As a fire raged in the building, in Grenoble, South East France, two boys were seen hanging out of a window as black smoke plumed around them.
Our heroes below shouted up for them to jump, with the first to drop being the younger brother as the selfless hero older brother ensured his sibling was safe.
The boy was hung out of the 10 meter (33 feet) high window as the crowd below reassured the youngster about dropping the tot to safety.
It isn't yet known what caused the fire or if there were any deaths as a result. What we do know is that 17 people were treated and the two boys shown here were treated for smoke inhalation, but otherwise escaped unharmed and four of the saviours were also treated for potential broken bones and fractures.
One of the heroes spoke to local press and confirmed he'd broken his wrist in the process of helping to save the two boys' lives.
Athoumani Walid, a student, said: "We didn't know what to do.
"We wanted to break the door but it wasn't possible."
After leaving the building as they couldn't find a way in, Walid explained: "When they jumped, fear disappeared.
"What mattered was to catch them."
Speaking of public perception of the neighbourhood, which has a large immigrant population, Walid said: "We are told it's a 'sensitive' neighborhood,"
"But yesterday we showed we are here for each other, and we save each other."
