A British family found more than they bargained for when on holiday in France as they opened their car roof box to find some unexpected cargo. Video below.

Underwear? [Check], Sun Cream? [Check], Shorts? [Check], Illegal Immigrants? [Check], Kids? [Check], Passports? [Check], Shoes? [Check]

We all know how much of a pain in the a*se it is packing for holiday. What have I forgot? Have we got the passports? Have you double checked the departure time? Is there any traffic? Have you got some tea bags just incase? You know, the usual palaver involved when any British family decides to get away for some sun, sea and sand.

But those eagled eyed amongst you will have noticed something unusual in our checking list up top and for those that didn't go back and have another glance.

That's right. Illegal immigrants. Not something you expect to find when you open your cars roof box when driving down the A29 in Normandy, France heading away from the dreadful British weather.

Well, that's exactly what happened to an as yet unnamed British couple this week in France as they heard a rumbling above their heads shortly after stopping at a service station in Northern France, on their way to a sunny getaway with the kids.

The British family told local police in France that they'd stopped overnight in Calais after disembarking the Eurotunnel. This is where it is believed the migrants took their chance and stowed away in the roof box.

The next day after continuing their journey along the A29 in Normandy, they heard sounds from up above and decided to pull into a service station, where they discovered two sixteen year old boys.

Officials said the two were from Eritrea and Guinea respectively and is has been reported they were later caught and arrested after fleeing the scene once discovered by the British family.

Reports suggest they migrants thought the car was heading back to Britain - being on British plates - rather than heading into France.

The couple filed complaints of theft after noticing items of their luggage had been removed from their box. So if you see a Guinean teenager walking around in a bikini and pair of flip flops in Northern France, he may have been one of them.

To be honest, there's absolutely no way I'd get in a roof box, I'm far too claustrophobic - nevermind with another person in there too and a load of luggage. Crikey.
