A cowardly thug - who social media have allegedly identified - has struck in Dublin, Ireland attacking a gaggle of bin men on their round, seriously injuring one with a weapon.
A cowardly thug attempted to mow down a bin man in Ireland when the City Bin Co. lorry was parked in the road whilst the crew collected the locals' bins earlier this week.
The man, white and in his late 20's by the looks of things and driving a dark coloured Volkswagen Golf, sits impatiently behind the large red and white rubbish collector before shifting into gear and flying down the nearby narrow footpath, nearly wiping out of one the collectors out in the process, whose only protection was a garden wall.
The high-powered Volkswagen would have easily crippled the man, who was just doing his job, in a spate of road rage that will hopefully see this bloke withdrawn from the roads indefinitely.
Footage shot by a local lady from a house where the commotion was taking place outside shows the Volkswagen mount the pavement and drive at speed around a parked car and very nearly hitting a lamppost before narrowly missing the innocent dustman.
The tough guy then proceeds to get out of his car and 'grand theft auto' the bin lorry as he presumably demands the driver move out of his way (although he's now in front of the lorry anyway).
After confronting the driver, who manages to wrestle the man off the steering wheel, he heads back to his car in what seems to be the end of the commotion before opening his boot and pulling out a weapon.
Not thinking he's done enough damage and made enough threats, he then confronts the man he very nearly crippled and whacks him viciously over the head with the weapon, leaving him bloody and bruised, before speeding off.
A photo later emerged of the innocent dustman with stitches in his head where the coward attacked him earlier in the day.
Social media users were quick to work and claimed to have identified the alleged perpetrator.
The City Bin Co who operate the lorry released a statement on the incident, writing:
"We're aware of a video circulating on social media this evening of an incident involving one of out City Bin crew today, and wanted to shed some light on the events.
"Earlier this morning, while providing an essential frontline service, two of our crew were subjected to an unprovoked attack by a member of the public - leading to a serious assault on one of our helpers. Thankfully our colleague has been discharged from hospital this evening and, though shaken by the incident, will make a full recovery.
"The Gardaí (The state police force of the Republic of Ireland) reacted quickly and the attacker has been arrested. We'll continue to work closely with the Gardaí to bring this matter before the courts, but we greatly appreciate and will pass on, the good wishes from everyone.
"Thank you."
This videos emergence comes just a day after we reported how bullying dustmen in Oldham blocked a car in with bins.
There's no room in our society for bullying, so if you see anything of this sort, please ensure you report it to the relevant authorities.
