A man has been arrested in Thailand for stealing Flip Flops in a bid to fulfil his bizarre sexual fetish.
24-year old Theerapat Klaiya had a fetish for flip-flops and a magnanimous 126 pair collection (along with other shoes) were seized when police searched his home after CCTV footage helped track him after pinching a pair from an alleged victim.
Klaiya revealed he had been collecting the stolen footwear for 2-years according to Metro.
He allegedly explained to officers that after spending hours wearing the flip-flops, he would cuddle and kiss them, strip off and rub them on his body, before ‘having sex with them’.
Police disclosed that the collection contained dozens of different brands, sizes and colours of shoes, all of them well worn.
They laid out the collection in front of the police station ahead of a press conference to show just how far and wide this bloke had gone to get off with other people's footwear. Odd.
The defendant admitted to three charges of night time theft and snatching, possessing a digital transceiver without permission, and violating the coronavirus curfew, police said.
Major Colonel Ekkaphop Prasitwattanachai told the media it was not Mr. Klaiya’s first offence for this kind of weird thievery.
He explained: "After we arrested the suspect, we also found out that he had already been arrested last year for stealing flip-flops in another district.
"He fully admitted stealing the sandals for lewd purposes, so will be detained at the station until a court appearance for prosecutors to decide on the next part of the legal process for him."
